It's been 15 years since King of the Hill went off the air, but in less than a month, the animated sitcom returns for its long-awaited Season 14. (Conversations around the show's revival started back in 2017.)

King of the Hill creators Mike Judge (Beavis and Butt-Head) and Greg Daniels (The Office) return for the reboot, which takes advantage of the time that's passed between Season 13 and Season 14 and ages up all the characters.

According to the season's official summary, Hank and Peggy Hill (voiced by Judge and Kathy Najimy) have spent the last few years "working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to earn their retirement nest egg." Now, they return to Arlen, Texas, where they'll reunite with King of the Hill mainstays Dale (voiced by Toby Huss, taking over for the late Johnny Hardwick), Bill (voiced by Stephen Root), and Boomhauer (voiced by Judge). Meanwhile, Hank and Peggy's son Bobby (voiced by Pamela Adlon), now in his mid-20s, is living it up in Dallas, where he's working as a chef.

In the trailer for the reboot above, Hank and Peggy are clearly having a tough time adjusting to retirement and the many ways in which Arlen has changed since their departure. Hank, in particular, is confused by everything from all-gender restrooms to bolder, fruitier beers.

In addition to the returning voice actors listed above, Ronny Chieng will be the new voice of Kahn, taking over from Huss. The late Jonathan Joss, who was fatally shot June 1, 2025, returned to voice John Redcorn before his death.

King of the Hill Season 14 premieres Aug. 4 on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
